MongoDB is seeking a Software Engineer 3 to join their Query team and help build a distributed open source query engine. You'll work with Java and MongoDB to enhance data processing performance. This role requires 3+ years of experience in data-intensive environments.
You have 3+ years of experience in data-intensive environments, demonstrating your ability to handle complex data processing tasks. Your hands-on experience in building industrial-strength software showcases your technical skills and commitment to quality. You possess solid computer science fundamentals, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design and architecture. Your familiarity with large code bases allows you to navigate and contribute effectively to collaborative projects. A B.Sc in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent practical experience, is part of your background. Experience in developing database systems is a plus, as is an interest in the theory and practice of database query engines. If you have hands-on experience or an M.Sc./Ph.D. in the domain, that would be an added advantage.
As a Software Engineer 3 on the MongoDB Server Query team, you will play a crucial role in building a world-class distributed open source query engine. Your responsibilities will include working on the MongoDB Query Language and managing the lifecycle of each query, from parsing to optimization to plan selection and execution. You will also be involved in enhancing our geospatial search and update subsystems, tackling interesting problems that have a direct impact on users for transactional, time-series, and analytical workloads.
