Job Description

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

Amazon Leo Productivity Engineering is seeking an Atlassian Administrator to operate and improve our Tier-1 services. This role requires in-depth knowledge across the Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo services along with automation scripting experience. This is a hands-on position where your daily activities will range from strategic planning to new system development to supporting the customers that depend on our services.

Key job responsibilities
- Subject Matter Expert on all workflows end-to-end, customizations, marketplace apps, management and configuration in Atlassian.
- Upgrade, configure, operate, and support Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo services.
- Develop customized solutions, including design, implementation, quality control, end-to-end testing plans in multiple environments (dev/test/stage/prod), troubleshooting and bug fixing. These solutions may require custom code development, API creation, and integration with other AWS services.
- Troubleshoot application issues and add-on integration issues in the Atlassian implementation.
- Determine ways to optimize/improve setup and workflows, as well as identify where functionality may or may not meet user requests.
- Develop metrics dashboards and advanced filters to provide end-users and business leadership with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports.
- Install, manage and administer add-ons, plugins, and extensions for Atlassian Data Center products.
- Develop process workflows for Jira including field configurations, screen schemes, permission schemes and notification schemes.
- Research, Diagnose, and Monitor performance bottlenecks.
- Write documentation and provide technical training for cross-functional teams.



A day in the life
In this role, you will function as an Atlassian technical lead. You will operate two distinct Atlassian stacks in AWS GovCloud, develop automation for upgrades/patching/testing, and enhance observability of the systems. You will work with stakeholders and senior engineers to design and develop custom solutions and integrations between Atlassian tools and other services in a secure manner.

We innovate on behalf of our customers to automate and simplify their workflows, enabling them to focus on high-value activities.- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience with enterprise technology standardization and service delivery
- 5+ years of experience developing customized solutions requiring custom code development, API creation, and/or integration with other services
- 5+ years of experience developing matrices dashboards and advanced filters
- 5+ years of experience developing process workflows including field configurations, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notification schemes.- Skilled in balancing enterprise security, compliance, and operational needs
- Track record of driving adoption of enterprise technology standards

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $122,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
