Overview

OKX is seeking a Senior / Staff Software Engineer for their Liquidity Platform to develop cutting-edge technology for crypto trading. You'll work with Java, Python, and Docker to build low-latency connectivity and automated trading strategies. This role requires strong technical skills and experience in the crypto domain.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in building scalable systems for financial applications — you've navigated the complexities of high-frequency trading and understand the nuances of liquidity management in crypto markets. Your expertise in Java and Python allows you to develop robust backend services that handle real-time data and transactions efficiently.

You are well-versed in containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes — you know how to deploy applications in a microservices architecture, ensuring high availability and performance. Your experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, enables you to leverage scalable infrastructure for your applications.

You possess a strong understanding of databases, especially PostgreSQL, and have experience designing schemas that optimize for performance and reliability — you know how to write efficient queries and manage data integrity in high-load environments. Your familiarity with REST APIs allows you to integrate various services seamlessly, ensuring smooth communication between components.

You are passionate about the crypto space and have a keen interest in developing automated trading strategies — you understand the importance of low-latency connectivity to global crypto venues and are excited about building solutions that enhance trading efficiency. Your analytical mindset helps you capture and analyze high-frequency data, driving insights that improve trading algorithms.

Desirable

Experience with blockchain technologies and decentralized finance (DeFi) is a plus — you understand the principles of smart contracts and how they can be applied to enhance liquidity solutions. Familiarity with front-end technologies is beneficial, as you may collaborate with UI/UX teams to create user-friendly trading interfaces.

What you'll do

As a Senior / Staff Software Engineer at OKX, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Liquidity Platform, which provides essential technology for crypto trading. You will build low-latency connectivity to various crypto venues, ensuring that our trading systems can execute orders quickly and efficiently. Your role will involve designing and implementing automated trading strategies that leverage market data to optimize liquidity.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and data analysts, to understand user needs and translate them into technical requirements — your input will shape the direction of our trading technology. You will also be involved in performance tuning and optimization of existing systems, ensuring that they can handle increasing volumes of transactions without compromising on speed or reliability.

In addition to coding, you will mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and best practices to help them grow in their careers — you will foster a culture of learning and collaboration within the team. Your contributions will directly impact the success of OKX as a leading crypto exchange, enabling millions of users to trade with confidence.

What we offer

At OKX, we offer a dynamic work environment where innovation is encouraged and rewarded. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that is shaping the future of finance. We provide competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional development and career advancement. Join us in our mission to reshape the future of crypto trading and empower individuals around the world.
