🚀 Head of Managed Services

About the Role

As Google Cloud's premier partner in AI, we deliver cutting-edge data solutions that help world-class businesses future-proof their operations. The Head of Managed Services is a strategic leadership role, directly responsible for the operational success and expansion of our client data platform engagements.

You won't just oversee support; you will own the long-term success of our clients' data ecosystems. This role is a high-impact blend of visionary leadership, proactive client partnership, and strategic service delivery optimisation. It is ideal for a hands-on leader who is passionate about empowering people, leveraging technology (especially AI and Data), and shaping the client experience.

What You'll Be Doing: Key Responsibilities

🌟 Strategic Leadership & Team Ownership

  • Establish a High-Performance Culture: Lead, mentor, and build a high-calibre Managed Services team, defining the culture and operational model that prioritises reliability, innovation, and continuous learning in data/AI technologies.

  • Future-Proofing Talent: Drive the team's development, career paths, and skills growth, with a strong emphasis on mastering modern data engineering, cloud platforms, and emerging AI solutions.

  • Maximise Impact: Own resource allocation, workload balancing, and long-term capacity planning to ensure maximum team efficiency and impact against revenue targets.

🤝 Client Partnership & Account Growth

  • Be the Trusted Point of Contact: Serve as the main strategic partner and executive contact for our key Managed Services clients.

  • Orchestrate Client Success: Build deep, long-term relationships, ensuring an exceptional client experience and acting as an advocate for their needs internally.

  • Translate Needs into Roadmaps: Proactively identify client challenges and opportunities, translating them into actionable service improvements, automation initiatives, and expansion of our service offerings.

✅ Operational Excellence & Delivery Optimisation

  • Own the Service Lifecycle: Oversee the planning, execution, and continuous optimisation of all Managed Services engagements, ensuring services are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with agreed SLAs and KPIs.

  • Drive Process Innovation: Collaborate closely with internal technical teams to design, optimise, and streamline our managed data and AI solutions, identifying opportunities to automate and enhance delivery through new tools and processes.

  • Elevate Service Offerings: Strategically support the evolution and scaling of Datatonic’s Managed Services portfolio, ensuring we maintain a competitive edge in the market.

Who We're Looking For

This role requires a proactive, results-driven leader who is ready to take charge and directly influence company-wide success.

Most importantly, experience running a managed cloud service in a related technology is a major plus.

  • Proven Leadership: Experience in a strategic management role, with a strong track record of leading, mentoring, and developing technical teams (Managed Services, Support, DevOps, or Data Engineering).

  • Client-First DNA: Strong background in client-facing posts, with exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive stakeholder management skills.

  • Operational Mindset: Solid understanding of project and service delivery management principles (Agile experience is a significant plus).

  • Technical Curiosity: A keen interest in or familiarity with data engineering, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and AI/ML technologies—you understand the value proposition of a modern data stack.

Strategic Vision: A proactive problem-solver with the ability to influence, design, and implement new, efficient processes across the organisation.
