Your expertise in programming languages such as Java and Python allows you to develop robust systems that can process millions of decisions daily. You have experience with machine learning concepts and are familiar with building automated decision systems that enhance review capacities. You are a proactive communicator, able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Safety Processing team, you will take full ownership of projects that enhance Discord's ability to detect and enforce against harmful content. You will design and implement systems that automate decision-making processes, significantly increasing the efficiency of content moderation. Your work will involve architecting solutions that centralize safety signal processing and developing infrastructure capable of handling millions of decisions per day. You will collaborate closely with various teams, including machine learning and policy, to ensure that the systems you build are effective and fair.

You will also be responsible for post-launch monitoring and iteration of the systems you develop, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the platform and its users. Your role will require you to tackle challenging problems at the intersection of automation and content safety, making a direct impact on the user experience.
