Formlabs is seeking a SLS Materials Scientist to drive materials research and develop world-class SLS materials for 3D printing. You'll collaborate with product, hardware, and software teams, requiring a solid understanding of materials science and polymer product development.
You are a creative and resourceful problem-solver, balancing speed and scientific rigor in a dynamic environment. You have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of materials science and polymer product development, with hands-on experience in thermo-plastic engineering. You are passionate about testing and troubleshooting, not afraid to test hundreds of times to achieve the best results. You love to harness data and can design and execute structured experimental plans to evaluate material formulations.
In this role, you will build world-class SLS materials for 3D printing, starting from initial lab explorations to validation and commercialization. You will drive materials research that directly shapes the next generation of SLS materials, partnering with product, hardware, and software teams to iterate and improve material performance based on customer feedback. You will develop structured experimental plans to evaluate material formulations in coordination with SLS print systems, balancing material chemistry, thermal dynamics, and printing parameters. Your work will have a direct impact on how Formlabs continues to innovate in the 3D printing space.
At Formlabs, you will be part of a team that is reinventing how the world makes physical things.
