Job Description

Amazon Lab126 is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics. Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products. Since then, we have produced devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create?

Our team is looking for a talented and inquisitive lab engineer to develop, support and maintain our device farm lab located in Mexico city. You will work directly with development teams, test automation engineers, and peer QA teams to iteratively improve our software development process.You will be responsible for maintaining different aspects of the device lab, supports spaces and equipment resources, including hardware and software, update all lab infrastructure, equipment, and software configurations.


Key job responsibilities
* Support operations of the team for a set of testing activities performed in the laboratory.
* Troubleshoot and fix issues related to test-beds, lab infrastructure and network.
* Automate and simplify laboratory processes to increase efficiency.
* Support engineering teams to solve problems connected to testing activities in the laboratory.
* Create and maintain lab work instructions, test procedures and inventory.
* Understand customer use cases and requirements and implement them into our lab infrastructure.
* Develop, maintain and troubleshoot automation and configuration scripts.* 2 year technical degree (preferably Engineering or Telecommunications) or equivalent experience.
* A minimum of 2 years of related experience as a Lab Engineer / System Administrator / QA Engineer / Support Engineer.
* Experience planning and maintaining lab facilities for optimal efficiency and creating new processes when necessary.
* Knowledge Operating Systems (Mac, Win, and Linux), PCs and Peripherals.
* Experience configuring and troubleshooting desktop and/or mobile systems- Knowledge of computer networks and WiFi.
* Experience troubleshooting skills with Wi-Fi, switch and router areas.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety rules in laboratory rooms.
* Basic experience with scripting languages: Bash and/or Python.* Experience with other programming languages such as Java, Python, or any other modern language is a plus.
* Proficient in the understanding of networking and WiFi concepts.
* Familiar with CI/CD build automation environments is a plus.
* Previous roles in QA or QA Automation a plus.
* Excellent communication and writing skills.
