Sr. Sourcing Specialist, PCBA (Starshield)

Who you are

You have a strong background in supply chain management, particularly in sourcing and procurement, with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. You are adept at managing supplier relationships and have a proven track record of developing and implementing sourcing strategies that align with project goals. Your analytical skills enable you to pull and aggregate demand data effectively, ensuring accurate demand signals for production. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are comfortable working with cross-functional teams to drive results.

You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to act as the primary interface for suppliers during the RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes. You are detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of cost management, enabling you to develop should-cost models that support project budgets. Your ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders ensures that sourcing decisions are well-informed and aligned with organizational objectives.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace or satellite industry is a plus, as is familiarity with hardware components used in satellite manufacturing. You are proactive in seeking out opportunities for supplier development and quality improvement, and you have a keen interest in logistics and inventory management.

What you'll do

In this role, you will manage the demand plan and sourcing for hardware used in the Starshield satellite constellation. You will work directly with key suppliers to develop and implement sourcing and cost management strategies that support both existing platforms and new product development. Your responsibilities will include pulling and aggregating the overall demand picture for hardware, enabling an accurate demand signal that supports production rates.

You will act as the supplier interface for all RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, ensuring that the sourcing process is efficient and effective. Partnering with internal stakeholders, you will run the RFX process and evaluation, using the results to inform sourcing decisions. You will manage costs aggressively to ensure adherence to project-specific budgets and forecasts, developing should-cost models to support your efforts.

Your role will also involve collaborating with the Starshield Supply Chain team to influence and shape suppliers, challenging them on cost, quality, and speed of execution. You will play a critical role in enabling production rates in the satellite factory of the future, contributing to SpaceX's mission of making human life multi-planetary.
