The Amazon Japan Paid Services Tech team is looking for a passionate, results-oriented Software Development Manager to lead a development team in developing new features for our customers. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing full-stack customer-facing experiences, a strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment. The JP Paid Services Tech team is part of the greater Japan Store Tech, a global software development group.
Key job responsibilities
· Responsible for the overall software development lifecycle
· Help define the long-term strategy and translate that into an achievable roadmap
· Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments
· Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment
· Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team
· Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to senior management- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Bachelor's degree- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
