Overview

Datadog is seeking a Senior Account Executive to target and close new business with large strategic customers. You'll focus on understanding customer pain points in cloud environments and delivering tailored solutions. This role requires 5+ years of closing experience and a proven track record in sales.

Job Description

Who you are

You have over 5 years of experience in closing sales, particularly in field selling within mid-market and enterprise environments. You have a proven track record of meeting or exceeding direct sales goals of $1M+, and you are comfortable operating with an average deal size of $100k+. Your ability to prospect effectively and develop relationships with Fortune 1000 companies sets you apart. You possess a deep understanding of customer business needs and can negotiate favorable pricing and business terms by demonstrating the value and ROI of solutions.

You are resourceful and can navigate challenges that may not have straightforward solutions. Your intuition guides you in identifying the necessary steps to close business and gain customer validation. You ensure high forecasting accuracy and consistency in your sales process, which is critical for success in this role. You thrive in a collaborative environment and value the relationships built within your team and with clients.

Desirable

Experience in cloud solutions or familiarity with Datadog's offerings would be advantageous. A strong network within the tech industry, particularly among large enterprises, can enhance your effectiveness in this role. You are driven by results and have a strategic mindset that allows you to identify business drivers behind opportunities.

What you'll do

In this role, you will target and close new business with Datadog’s largest and most strategic customers. You will prospect into Fortune 1000 companies while running an efficient sales process. Building and maintaining specific relationship maps for your territory will be essential, as you will need to manage existing customer expectations while expanding your reach and depth within assigned accounts. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of your customers' businesses, which will enable you to tailor Datadog solutions to their unique challenges.

Negotiating favorable pricing and business terms will be a key responsibility, and you will need to effectively communicate the value and ROI of Datadog's offerings.
