Xometry is seeking a Software Engineer II to guide software implementation and influence decisions across engineering teams. You'll work with Java, C#, and ASP.NET to build reliable solutions. This role requires strong technical leadership and mentorship skills.
You have a solid foundation in software engineering principles and at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role — you've successfully contributed to multiple projects and understand the intricacies of software development life cycles. Your expertise in Java and C# allows you to write clean, efficient code while also guiding others in best practices. You are comfortable with ASP.NET and have experience in building scalable applications that meet user needs. Your technical leadership skills shine through as you mentor junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and confidence in their abilities. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and improve processes.
Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure is a plus, as is familiarity with Agile methodologies. You thrive in environments where you can champion the adoption of new technologies and methods, ensuring that your team stays ahead of the curve. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders is invaluable, as you often serve as a bridge between engineering and other departments.
In this role, you will take on hands-on technical leadership responsibilities, writing and reviewing architectural plans for new projects while actively participating in their implementation. You will guide innovation by championing a mix of traditional and cutting-edge technologies, ensuring that your team is equipped to tackle challenges effectively. Your mentorship will be crucial as you teach and guide engineers across the organization, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. You will conduct code reviews, providing constructive feedback that helps elevate the quality of the codebase and the skills of your peers. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with product managers and designers to ensure that the solutions you build align with user needs and business goals.
At Xometry, you will be part of a dynamic team that is transforming the manufacturing industry through technology. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for professional development. You will have the chance to work in a supportive environment that values innovation and encourages you to take ownership of your projects. Join us in our mission to empower manufacturers and buyers alike, making a significant impact in the marketplace.
