What you'll do

As the Director of Software Engineering, you will lead a team of approximately 35 software developers, guiding them in the development of reusable software solutions that support various energy efficiency programs. You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for the software engineering team, ensuring alignment with the overall goals of EnergySolutions. Your role will involve liaising closely with internal business units to understand their needs and translating those into actionable software development projects.

You will oversee the technical execution of projects, ensuring that solutions are architecturally sound and meet the highest standards of quality. This includes conducting regular code reviews, providing mentorship to team members, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering team. You will also be responsible for managing budgets and resources effectively, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within scope.

In addition to technical leadership, you will play a key role in business strategy discussions, providing insights on how technology can drive business outcomes. You will collaborate with Product Managers and Business Analysts to define project requirements and success metrics, ensuring that the software solutions developed align with the strategic objectives of the company.
