Amazon is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to provide technical leadership in the governance of AWS usage across the company's cloud footprint. You'll architect and develop scalable software systems while collaborating with AWS product teams. This role requires experience in cloud governance and AWS.
You have a strong background in software development with a focus on cloud technologies, particularly AWS. Your experience includes architecting and developing scalable systems that ensure compliance and security across multiple AWS accounts. You are adept at implementing preventive controls and guardrails to enforce standardization and prevent policy violations. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with infrastructure, security, and business teams to translate complex requirements into effective solutions.
You possess a deep understanding of high availability, scalability, observability, and disaster recovery principles in the context of cloud governance. Your technical leadership skills enable you to drive improvements in multi-account strategies as AWS service offerings evolve. You are passionate about evangelizing cloud governance best practices and have a track record of influencing product roadmaps through collaboration with AWS product teams.
Experience with large-scale enterprise systems and a solid grasp of security best practices in cloud environments will set you apart. Familiarity with compliance frameworks and governance tools is a plus, as is a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation in cloud architecture.
In this role, you will architect and develop systems and processes for operating Amazon's extensive enterprise multi-account AWS footprint. You will implement preventive controls and guardrails within AWS accounts and AWS Organizations, ensuring compliance with security standards. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with various teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions that enhance security and governance.
You will have the opportunity to drive the development of foundational systems that support the management of millions of AWS accounts and resources across Amazon. Your work will directly influence the adoption of AWS offerings throughout the company, allowing you to make a significant impact on Amazon's cloud strategy.
You will also be responsible for evangelizing best practices in cloud governance, helping to shape the future of AWS usage within Amazon.
