You'll work with AC/DC power conversion and power electronics to shape the architecture and reliability of adapters. This role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of industry experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 10 years of industry experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in AC/DC power conversion topologies such as flyback, resonant converter, and PFC design. Your expertise in semiconductor and power electronics fundamentals, including silicon and GaN, allows you to tackle complex engineering challenges effectively.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with mechanical, thermal, reliability, and manufacturing teams to deliver compact, efficient, and robust power solutions. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills enable you to take full ownership of your designs, from initial concept exploration through to mass production.

You are passionate about innovation and enjoy the technical aspects of engineering, including hands-on work with simulations, prototypes, and validation in the lab. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams ensures that you can drive projects forward and meet demanding design goals.

Desirable

Experience with high-volume production processes and a track record of successful product launches will set you apart. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to power supply design is a plus, as is a proactive approach to continuous learning and improvement in your field.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design of the next generation of high-density offline power supplies for Apple's portable products. You will be responsible for shaping the architecture, performance, and reliability of adapters that are used by millions of customers worldwide. Your work will involve hands-on design, simulations, and validation, ensuring that the products meet Apple's high standards for quality and efficiency.

You will collaborate with various teams, including mechanical and thermal engineers, to ensure that your designs are not only functional but also manufacturable at scale. Your role will require you to engage in early concept exploration, working through the details of your designs to ensure they meet the demanding requirements of Apple's product line.

As you progress through the design process, you will conduct rigorous testing and validation to ensure that the power supplies perform reliably under various conditions. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during the development and production phases.
