Who you are

You hold a Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Data Science, or Mathematics, and you have at least 10 years of experience using analytics to solve complex product or business problems. Your coding skills in Python, R, and SQL are strong, allowing you to query databases and perform statistical analysis effectively. You have a proven track record of managing teams, with at least 6 years of experience in a technical leadership role, guiding and mentoring others in the field of data science. Your deep understanding of statistical analysis and strategy analysis, particularly in tech companies, positions you as a key player in driving data-driven decisions. You possess excellent data intuition and business acumen, enabling you to communicate effectively with product teams and executives to align on solutions.

Desirable

A PhD in a related field is preferred, along with 12 years of experience in analytics. Familiarity with AI and its applications in advertising will be beneficial, as you will be working on advanced ad products that are rapidly evolving. Your ability to understand and model rigorous analysis will be crucial in navigating the complexities of nascent businesses.

What you'll do

As the Senior Staff Data Scientist Manager for Ads Metrics, you will lead a team dedicated to supporting the Search Ads and Google Experience organization. Your role will involve developing key ad products, from classic text ads to innovative offerings like Demand Generative Campaigns and Local Ads. You will guide product development and executive decisions using data, measuring the long-term impact of changes on users, advertisers, and Google systems through well-designed experiments. Your analytical skills will help identify new growth opportunities and understand the trade-offs between user, advertiser, and Google value. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that data insights are effectively integrated into product strategies. Your leadership will foster a high level of productivity within your team, ensuring that rigorous analysis is at the forefront of decision-making processes.
