Staff Software Engineer (Money Platform)

Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building production systems that scale effectively. You’ve owned services from design through deployment and have navigated the complexities of debugging distributed systems issues. Your expertise in Java is complemented by a strong understanding of REST API design, ensuring that the services you build are both efficient and reliable.

You are familiar with CI/CD practices and have maintained and extended test automation to support these processes. Mentoring engineers is something you enjoy, as you believe in sharing knowledge and guiding others through code reviews and collaborative projects. You thrive in cross-functional environments, working closely with global teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Desirable

Experience with financial systems or applications is a plus, as it aligns with the mission of Earnin to provide real-time financial flexibility. Familiarity with secure coding practices and compliance standards will also be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

As a Staff Backend Engineer at Earnin, you will design and implement scalable, high-quality backend features that support the Money Platform. Your role will involve driving the end-to-end execution of complex initiatives, from initial design through to production deployment. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure that the services you build are secure, scalable, and compliant with industry standards.

You will maintain and extend test automation frameworks to support CI/CD, ensuring that the deployment process is smooth and efficient. Your mentorship will help guide junior engineers, providing them with the support they need to grow and succeed in their roles. You will also be involved in code reviews, sharing your insights and best practices to foster a culture of excellence within the engineering team.
