Overview

Microsoft is seeking a Government Affairs Director for Infrastructure to engage with state and local governments to support the development of datacenters. This role requires expertise in land use, water use, energy, regulation, and tax policies.

You have extensive experience in government affairs, particularly in infrastructure-related issues. Your background includes engaging with state and local governments, and you possess a deep understanding of policies related to land use, water use, energy, regulation, and taxation. You are skilled in building relationships with community stakeholders and have a proven track record of advancing policies that support infrastructure development. You thrive in collaborative environments and are committed to promoting sustainability and social responsibility in your work.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead efforts to engage with various government entities to advocate for policies that facilitate the construction and operation of Microsoft datacenters. You will work closely with internal teams, including Public Affairs and State Government Affairs, to align strategies and ensure that Microsoft’s interests are represented effectively. You will analyze regulatory frameworks and provide insights on how they impact infrastructure projects. Additionally, you will collaborate with community stakeholders to build support for Microsoft’s initiatives and ensure compliance with local regulations.
