Project managementNetwork planning

Overview

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead complex projects in network planning. You'll utilize your expertise in program management and network capacity planning to optimize workflows and collaborate with cross-functional teams. This role requires 5+ years of experience in program management.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 5 years of experience in program management. Your background includes 3 years of experience specifically in network capacity planning, which has equipped you with the skills to adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced planning environment. You possess excellent investigative skills that aid in making informed network planning decisions, and your organizational abilities ensure that you manage network topology effectively. You are detail-oriented and excel in problem-solving and communication, understanding that a problem isn’t truly solved until it’s resolved for all stakeholders involved.

Desirable

Experience in project management within network planning is preferred, as is the ability to construct, articulate, and defend insights derived from analysis. Your technical expertise allows you to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, making you comfortable discussing technical trade-offs in product development with engineers while also being able to communicate analyses and recommendations to executives.

What you'll do

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead the publication of network plans by managing topology changes through regional reviews and Change Control Board processes. You will define and monitor key business metrics, such as process time and SLA adherence, to optimize the throughput of new planning queues. Your role will involve providing technical expertise to automate workflows and collaborating with partner teams to resolve process ambiguities. You will work closely with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, and manage project schedules, ensuring clear communication with cross-functional partners across the company. Your contributions will help shape the architecture that supports Google's product portfolio, making a significant impact on how users experience Google's services.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to building products that create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. You will have the chance to work in an environment that values collaboration and innovation, where your insights and expertise will be recognized and appreciated. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we believe diverse teams build better products. Join us in making a difference in the world through technology and infrastructure.
