Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Hardware Development Engineer for their Starlink project to develop microelectronic failure analysis tools and improve transceiver reliability. You'll work with embedded systems and statistical process analysis in Redmond.

Who you are

You have a strong background in hardware engineering, particularly in developing and analyzing microelectronic devices. With experience in reliability testing and failure analysis, you understand the importance of ensuring high-quality performance in transceiver products. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with design and integration teams to drive improvements and corrective actions. Your analytical skills are complemented by a solid understanding of statistical process control, allowing you to identify and implement reliability enhancements effectively.

You are detail-oriented and possess a proactive approach to problem-solving, always seeking to understand the root causes of issues and develop innovative solutions. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly makes you an effective collaborator across cross-functional teams. You are passionate about contributing to groundbreaking technologies that have a global impact, such as those developed for the Starlink satellite constellation.

Desirable

Experience with microelectronic devices and their reliability testing is a plus. Familiarity with satellite communication systems or broadband technologies would enhance your candidacy. What you'll do

As a Hardware Development Engineer for transceivers at SpaceX, you will take ownership of the yield and reliability of transceiver products from early production stages through to on-orbit operations. You will interface with various teams to drive reliability improvements at all levels, ensuring that the transceivers meet the highest standards of performance and durability. Your responsibilities will include developing design, manufacturing, and test requirements aimed at enhancing the reliability of transceiver products.

You will conduct thorough reliability testing of microelectronic devices, utilizing your expertise in failure analysis to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
