Overview

Enviva is seeking a Control Room Operator to monitor and manage plant operations, ensuring safety and efficiency. This role requires an understanding of control room operations and technical skills related to plant systems.

Who you are

You have a solid understanding of control room operations and are adept at monitoring plant systems to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Your ability to respond to alarms and take corrective actions is crucial in maintaining the plant's generating requirements. You are detail-oriented and capable of preparing accurate records, which is essential for effective operations management. Your technical skills are complemented by strong soft skills, enabling you to communicate effectively with team members and ensure smooth functioning of systems and equipment.

Desirable

Experience in renewable energy or bioenergy solutions would be beneficial, as well as familiarity with monitoring and adjusting production line processes. A background in managing chip feed systems, fuel feed systems, and other plant operations will set you apart. You are proactive in identifying potential issues and have a knack for troubleshooting to maintain continuous plant operation.

What you'll do

As a Control Room Operator at Enviva, you will be responsible for operating plant functions from the control room, ensuring that all systems are monitored continuously. You will manage various systems including the chip feed system, fuel feed system, furnace, and dryer system, making adjustments as necessary to optimize production. Your role will involve checking indicator screens and signal lights, monitoring production rates, and ensuring that spark detection equipment is functioning correctly. You will also be tasked with translating signals into production realities, adjusting processes to meet operational goals.

In addition to monitoring, you will maintain working schedules and equipment temperatures, ensuring that all operations align with safety and efficiency standards. Your ability to act as the overall contact for plant operations will be vital in coordinating activities and ensuring that all team members are informed and engaged in maintaining optimal plant performance.
