You have significant experience in one or more programming languages, valuing code simplicity and performance. With a strong background in designing architecture to solve problems at high scale, you bring 6+ years of experience in software engineering. Your educational background includes a BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience, and you thrive in a fast, high-growth startup environment that respects its engineers and customers.
You have a deep understanding of high-scale systems, having worked with technologies like Redis, Cassandra, and Kafka. You are excited about leveraging AI tools to enhance your coding and problem-solving capabilities, and you have written your own data pipelines in the past. Your strong background in statistics complements your technical skills, allowing you to approach problems with a data-driven mindset.
Bonus points if you have experience working at high scale with systems like Redis, Cassandra, or Kafka. If you've written your own data pipelines once or twice before, that would be a plus. A strong background in statistics will also be beneficial in this role.
In this role, you will solve scaling bottlenecks in critical services and deploy new features to production, progressively rolling them out with feature flags. You will investigate and fix production issues from services your team owns, ensuring high availability and performance. Collaborating with your team, you will plan the most important projects to work on next, contributing to the overall success of Datadog's platform.
You will be responsible for designing solutions that can scale up services for increased traffic, applying your expertise in architecture and system design. Your work will directly impact the performance and reliability of the platform, helping thousands of companies manage their systems effectively.
