Krafton is hiring a 3D Environment Artist to create immersive worlds for their upcoming project, Orion. You'll work with Unreal Engine and tools like Blender and Substance to develop high-quality 3D assets. This role requires at least 2 years of experience in game art production.
You have at least 2 years of experience as a 3D Environment Artist, with a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to create high-quality 3D assets for games. Your proficiency in Unreal Engine 4/5 is exceptional, allowing you to effectively utilize the level editor and tools to bring environments to life. You possess a keen aesthetic sense, understanding composition, layout, color theory, and spatial design, which enables you to create visually appealing and immersive game worlds.
Your understanding of the art pipeline is comprehensive, covering all aspects of environment art production, including 3D modeling, texturing, and lighting. You are skilled in using tools like Blender for modeling and Substance Designer and Painter for creating realistic PBR textures and materials. You have experience in implementing and optimizing assets within game engines, ensuring performance efficiency through techniques like LOD, culling, and draw call reduction.
You are passionate about visual storytelling and can convey narratives through lighting, atmosphere, and spatial composition, particularly in the context of a dangerous and abandoned alien planet. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with art directors and level designers to construct engaging gameplay spaces that enhance player experience.
Experience with open-world game design and a strong understanding of organic and hard surface modeling techniques will be advantageous. Familiarity with performance optimization techniques specific to game engines will also set you apart.
As a 3D Environment Artist at Krafton, you will be responsible for modeling organic environmental elements such as alien terrain, plants, and rocks, as well as hard surface structures like abandoned bases and destroyed debris. You will collaborate with the art director and level designers to create visually compelling and playable environments that align with the concept of survival on an alien planet.
