Uber is hiring a Mid-Level Frontend Engineer to implement features for data platform applications. You'll collaborate with designers and backend engineers while utilizing technologies like JavaScript, React, and Node.js. This role requires 3-5 years of professional experience.
You have 3-5 years of professional experience in frontend or full-stack development — you've successfully implemented user-facing features and understand the nuances of creating intuitive user experiences. Your strong command of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript allows you to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that meets high standards. Practical experience developing applications using ReactJS is essential, as is your working knowledge of Node.js and Express.js. You are familiar with consuming APIs, preferably GraphQL-based services, and understand responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility basics. Your familiarity with version control systems and collaborative development workflows makes you a valuable team player.
Experience building dashboards, admin consoles, or data-heavy UIs is a bonus, as is exposure to state management libraries and modern frontend tooling. A basic understanding of data platforms, search systems, or storage concepts will further enhance your contributions. If you have experience with frontend testing frameworks and performance tuning, that will be an added advantage. Familiarity with agile/scrum development methodologies will help you thrive in our fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will implement frontend features and components for data platform applications, ensuring that they are user-friendly and efficient. Collaborating closely with designers and backend engineers, you will deliver intuitive user experiences that meet the needs of our users. You will participate in code reviews, contributing to improving team standards and ensuring that the codebase remains robust and maintainable. Debugging and resolving UI, performance, and integration issues will be part of your daily tasks, as you continuously strive to improve product usability and reliability through incremental enhancements.
