Senior Software Engineer - Distributed Systems

Who you are

You have a BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience and significant backend programming experience in one or more languages such as Go, Java, Rust, or C++. You have been exposed to working on problems requiring high durability and low latency, and you can get down to the low-level when needed. You care about simple designs and performance, and you want to work in a fast, high-growth startup environment that respects its engineers and customers. What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Datadog, you will build fault-tolerant, horizontally scalable solutions running in multi-tenant environments. You will write in Go, Java, Rust, or C++, amongst other languages, and use Kafka, Redis, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and other open-source components. You will own meaningful parts of our service, have an impact, and grow with the company. Your role will involve designing, implementing, and running in production the foundational platforms powering our applications, ensuring they can ingest, store, analyze, and query billions of events per second in real-time.
