Who you are

You have 5+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in building scalable systems that leverage AI and machine learning technologies. Your expertise includes programming in Java and Python, and you have a solid understanding of computer vision principles. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working on projects that have a meaningful impact on safety and efficiency in physical operations.

You are passionate about using technology to solve real-world problems, particularly in the context of safety solutions. Your experience includes working with large datasets and developing algorithms that can analyze complex data streams. You are comfortable with both backend and frontend technologies, allowing you to contribute to various aspects of product development.

You have a strong foundation in machine learning techniques and are familiar with frameworks that support AI development. What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Context Intelligence team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing AI-powered products that enhance Samsara's safety solutions. You will work closely with product managers and designers to understand user needs and translate them into technical requirements. Your role will involve developing algorithms that analyze camera footage to detect unsafe driving behaviors and highlight positive habits.

You will collaborate with data scientists to refine models and improve detection accuracy. Your work will contribute to the development of systems that process data from millions of vehicles and assets, ensuring that safety solutions are effective and reliable. You will also participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall architecture of the systems you help build.

In addition to coding, you will engage in cross-functional discussions to align on product vision and strategy. You will have the opportunity to lead initiatives that drive innovation within the team, exploring new technologies and methodologies that can enhance product capabilities.
