What you'll do

In this hybrid role, you will report to the Technical Lead Manager and work with a talented team focused on ensuring that the Waymo Driver behaves safely and predictably in various driving scenarios. You will be responsible for developing and refining algorithms that allow the vehicle to perceive its environment and make informed decisions. Your work will involve deep collaboration with other engineers to address the unique challenges posed by autonomous driving, including the integration of perception and decision-making systems. You will also engage in rigorous testing and validation processes to ensure the reliability of the software you develop.

Your contributions will directly impact the Waymo Driver's performance, enhancing its ability to navigate complex urban environments. You will participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team. As you work on cutting-edge technology, you will have the opportunity to influence the direction of the software architecture and contribute to the overall strategy of the engineering team.
