You have a strong background in machine learning, with experience in designing, training, and deploying models that automate complex processes. You are comfortable with the complete model development lifecycle, from data mining and processing to model training, evaluation, validation, and productionization. Experience with autonomous systems or mapping technologies would be a plus, as would familiarity with cloud platforms for deploying machine learning models. What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, training, and deploying machine learning models that automate the creation of Waymo's high-definition maps. You will apply and advance state-of-the-art ML techniques, including Vision-Language Models and other Generative AI approaches, to pioneer new solutions in mapping automation. You will own the complete model development lifecycle, ensuring that your models are robust and scalable. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with partner ML teams, such as Waymo Perception, to ensure that the mapping data meets the needs of various applications. You will also engage in data mining and processing to prepare datasets for training, and you will evaluate and validate your models to ensure they perform effectively in real-world scenarios. Your contributions will directly support the mission of making autonomous driving safer and more reliable.

Waymo offers a competitive salary range of $204,000—$259,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
