Overview

Google is seeking a Technical Operations Manager to oversee third-party data centers. You'll manage operational strategies, ensuring efficiency and compliance in facility maintenance. This role requires extensive experience in electrical and mechanical systems.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong technical background with at least 9 years of experience in Electrical, Mechanical/HVAC, or controls within an industrial or commercial environment. Your expertise includes working in data centers or facilities, where you've developed a keen understanding of operational best practices. You hold an Associate's degree or equivalent practical experience, and ideally, you possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering field. Your communication skills are top-notch, allowing you to effectively engage with all levels of the organization, including executives. You are adept at forecasting resource requirements using data-driven methods, ensuring that operational needs are met efficiently.

Desirable

Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance and a solid foundation in engineering principles will set you apart. You have a proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for improving operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the development of strategies to optimize operational costs and enhance efficiency across data center facilities. You will oversee the maintenance and operation of sophisticated electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability and performance. Your responsibilities will include inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various data center systems, such as HVAC, power supply, and electrical distribution. You will collaborate closely with senior technicians, providing guidance and support as needed. As an advocate for best practices, you will drive initiatives to ensure compliance with facility maintenance standards globally. You will also be responsible for developing creative approaches to reduce operational excursions and improve overall site performance.
