You'll work on hardware bring-up, characterization, and qualification testing. This role requires expertise in hardware engineering and reliability testing.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in hardware engineering with a focus on reliability — your experience includes hardware bring-up, characterization, and qualification testing, ensuring that products meet stringent reliability standards. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are comfortable tackling previously unsolved problems with innovative solutions. You possess excellent problem-solving skills and can think at a system level, collaborating effectively with cross-disciplinary teams to drive improvements in product design and processes.

You are detail-oriented and take extreme ownership of your work — you understand the importance of rigorous testing and validation in the hardware lifecycle, from production to orbit. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly makes you a valuable team member, as you work closely with engineers from various disciplines to ensure the success of the Starshield program. You are adaptable and eager to learn, always looking for ways to enhance your skills and contribute to the team's success.

Desirable

Experience with RF systems or satellite technology is a plus, as is familiarity with national security applications. A background in aerospace or defense industries would be beneficial, as you will be working on projects that support government initiatives. You are passionate about space exploration and are motivated by the mission of enabling human life on Mars.

What you'll do

As an RF Hardware Reliability Engineer on the Starshield team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of hardware throughout its lifecycle. You will conduct detailed hardware bring-up and characterization, performing qualification testing to validate designs against rigorous standards. Your role will involve driving improvements to existing processes and controls, ensuring that all hardware meets the necessary reliability requirements before deployment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and testing, to identify and resolve issues early in the development process. Your ability to think critically and explore innovative solutions will be essential as you tackle complex challenges in hardware design and reliability. You will also be involved in documenting test results and providing feedback to enhance product performance and reliability.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that supports national security efforts, leveraging SpaceX's Starlink technology. You will be part of a quickly growing program with a wide range of engaging opportunities, contributing to the mission of making space exploration a reality.

What we offer

At SpaceX, you will be part of a team that is pushing the limits of what is possible in aerospace technology. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with the chance to work on groundbreaking projects that have a real impact on the future of humanity. You will be surrounded by a team of talented individuals who are dedicated to innovation and excellence, fostering an environment where you can grow and develop your skills.

Join us in our mission to enable human life on Mars and be part of a company that is transforming the aerospace industry. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — your passion and drive to succeed are what matter most.
