Esri is hiring a Senior UX Researcher to lead research initiatives for ArcGIS Apps. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct impactful research that informs product decisions. This role requires experience in user research methodologies and a strong understanding of SaaS applications.
You have 5+ years of experience in user research, particularly within SaaS environments — you've successfully led research projects that have shaped product direction and user experience. Your expertise in both exploratory and evaluative research methods allows you to identify user needs and translate them into actionable insights. You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with designers, product managers, and engineers to ensure user perspectives are integrated into the development process.
Your strong communication skills enable you to present research findings effectively to diverse audiences, ensuring that insights are understood and utilized by all stakeholders. You are adept at managing multiple research projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and aligning research activities with agile development cycles. You understand the importance of embedding user insights into every phase of product development, from ideation to launch.
Experience with ArcGIS applications or similar geospatial software is a plus, as is familiarity with agile methodologies. You are comfortable using various research tools and platforms to gather and analyze data, and you have a keen interest in understanding how users interact with complex software solutions.
In this role, you will lead research initiatives for ArcGIS Business Analyst and ArcGIS Instant Apps, conducting foundational and directional research that informs product strategy. You will collaborate with product teams to identify user problems and research opportunities, ensuring that user insights are represented in sprint planning and retrospectives. Your work will involve synthesizing findings from various research activities and presenting them to cross-functional teams, helping to guide product decisions and improve user experience.
You will build strong relationships with product and design leadership, prioritizing research needs and developing plans that deliver actionable insights tailored to the needs of designers and engineers. Your ability to align research with agile processes will be crucial in ensuring that user feedback is integrated into the development lifecycle. You will also be responsible for managing research projects across multiple teams, acting as a trusted partner and advocate for user-centered design.
Esri offers a collaborative work environment where your contributions will directly impact how professionals use critical ArcGIS applications. You will have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that tackle complex geographical challenges, and your insights will help shape the future of our products. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Join us in making a difference through innovative research and design.
