Overview

Relativity is seeking a Senior Mission Assurance Engineer to ensure the successful integration of systems for the Terran R rocket. You'll collaborate across teams to achieve ambitious objectives in rocket development. This role requires a strong technical background and problem-solving skills.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong technical background with experience in mission assurance or related fields — your expertise allows you to ensure that every system on the vehicle and ground meets rigorous standards for reliability and performance. You thrive in collaborative environments, working across teams to solve complex problems that haven't been addressed before. Your ability to think critically and creatively enables you to contribute to the development of innovative solutions in rocket technology.

You understand the importance of integrating various systems within a launch vehicle — your experience in trajectory design, aerodynamics, and reliability analysis equips you to oversee the holistic view of how the Terran R comes together. You are detail-oriented and committed to achieving ambitious objectives, ensuring that all components function seamlessly together.

You are passionate about space exploration and the role technology plays in advancing science — your enthusiasm drives you to stay updated on industry trends and innovations. You are comfortable navigating the challenges of a fast-paced environment, where your contributions can have a significant impact on the success of the mission.

Desirable

Experience in aerospace engineering or a related field is a plus — familiarity with rocket systems and launch operations will enhance your ability to contribute effectively. A background in project management or systems engineering can also be beneficial, as it allows you to coordinate efforts across multiple teams and disciplines.

What you'll do

As a Senior Mission Assurance Engineer at Relativity, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful integration of systems for the Terran R rocket. You will collaborate with various teams, including propulsion, manufacturing, and avionics, to ensure that every aspect of the vehicle meets the highest standards of reliability and performance. Your work will involve conducting thorough analyses and assessments to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

You will be responsible for overseeing the holistic view of how the Terran R comes together — this includes working on trajectory design and aerodynamics, as well as conducting reliability analyses to ensure that all systems are capable of achieving our ambitious objectives. Your insights will help shape decisions that impact the overall success of the mission.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative solutions that push the boundaries of rocket technology — your problem-solving skills will be essential in addressing challenges that arise during the development process. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand.

What we offer

At Relativity, you will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to pioneering progress in space exploration. We offer a competitive salary range of $142,000—$181,500 USD, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will have the chance to leave your mark on the product, the process, and the culture as we work together to achieve our goals.

We value diversity and inclusion in our workplace, and we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Join us in shaping the future of space technology and making a meaningful impact on the world.

If you are ready to take on the challenge of developing a rocket, a factory, and a business from the ground up, we invite you to apply and become part of our mission.
