Staff Software Engineer, TPU Supercomputer Enablement

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 8 years of experience programming in C++. Your background includes 5 years of experience testing and launching software products, as well as building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks. You possess a strong understanding of compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture, and have 3 years of experience with software design and architecture. Your experience in systems infrastructure complements your technical skills, making you a well-rounded candidate for this role.

You may also hold a Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. With 8 years of experience in data structures and algorithms, you are well-equipped to tackle complex challenges. Your leadership experience spans at least 3 years in a technical role, where you have led project teams and set technical direction. You thrive in complex, matrixed organizations, successfully managing cross-functional or cross-business projects.

What you'll do

As a Staff Software Engineer at Google, you will work on critical projects that align with the company’s needs, providing technical leadership and influencing a distributed team of engineers. You will facilitate alignment and clarity across teams regarding goals, outcomes, and timelines, ensuring that project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables are met. Your role will involve designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing large-scale software solutions that handle information at massive scale.

You will collaborate with engineers from various backgrounds, bringing fresh ideas from areas such as information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing. Your contributions will directly impact how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another.
