Job Description

Our mission is to provide manufacturers and other industrial sectors with insights into the health of machines, processes, and operations to transform how people work and what they can create. A leader in Machine Health and Process Health solutions, Augury uses purpose-built AI technology, trained by industry experts and the world’s largest data library, to help companies realize the full potential of their production. Together with our customers, we are pioneering Production Health by removing friction created by competing business goals so companies can improve business outcomes, empower their workforce, and achieve sustainable production- all at the same time.

You are a Embedded Test & Validation Engineer that designs, builds, and owns the production testing infrastructure for our IoT devices. You’ll work across multidisciplinary teams to develop automated test systems, maintain R&D validation equipment, and ensure our hardware ships with the highest levels of reliability and quality.

A Day In Your Life

Hardware Test & Production Validation

  • Own the full hardware test & validation domain: automated test systems, jigs/fixtures, diagnostic tooling, and production-line validation.
  • Engage early in product development to define and enforce Design-For-Test (DFT) requirements across hardware and firmware.
  • Lead development of end-to-end production test sequences, including:
    • UUT identification
    • Firmware flashing & verification
    • BLE communication setup
    • Built-In Self Test (BIST)
    • NFC tests
    • LED tests
    • Power measurement

  • Build and maintain scalable validation tools and test jigs from prototype through mass production.
  • Design automated test software in Python for functional, electrical, RF, and system-level validation.

Automation Infrastructure

  • Create frameworks for continuous validation, reproducible tests, remote debugging, and OTA-based test configurations.
  • Integrate automated test flows with backend systems such as MongoDB, BigQuery SQL, and cloud reporting dashboards.
  • Implement automated data collection, storage, analysis, and traceability pipelines.

Hands-On Debug & Collaboration

  • Perform hands-on hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and other lab equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, mechanical, systems, and field teams to align test requirements and resolve multi-disciplinary issues.
  • Document test requirements, architecture, interfaces, validation flows, and troubleshooting methods.

What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of experience in hardware validation, production test development, IoT, embedded systems, or related roles.
  • BSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Strong Python programming skills (OOP, scripting, automation frameworks).
  • Experience developing automated test systems for hardware or IoT devices.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers.
  • Understanding of electronics fundamentals: digital/analog circuits, sensors, power systems.
  • Familiarity with BLE, NFC, or other short-range wireless protocols.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments, command-line tools, and Git.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with production/manufacturing test development or high-volume hardware testing.
  • Knowledge of IoT cloud environments (AWS IoT, Azure IoT) and device provisioning.
  • Familiarity with database systems, data pipelines, or cloud reporting tools.
  • Test automation frameworks (Robot Framework, pytest, etc.).
  • Experience with regulated industries (medical, military, aerospace).
Additional languages such as Go or Rust for tooling.
  • Experience with factory provisioning, traceability, or end-of-line (EOL) testing.

Perks

  • Stock options
  • Paid parental leave
  • Flex PTO
