Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in systems engineering, particularly in satellite communication systems, with experience in customer terminal architecture and integration. You are skilled in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including electrical hardware, antenna, simulation, silicon, algorithm, firmware, and software engineers. Your expertise in embedded Linux and firmware development allows you to effectively contribute to the validation and testing of complex systems. You are familiar with RF technologies and understand the challenges associated with satellite communications. You possess excellent problem-solving skills and can lead investigations into validation failures, ensuring that all work meets technical, functional, and regulatory requirements. You are comfortable with data analysis and reporting, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can make a significant impact.

What you'll do

As a SATCOM System Engineer, you will be responsible for developing the architecture for customer terminals that will be part of Amazon's satellite constellation. You will work closely with subsystem engineers to ensure that all components, including electrical, RF, antenna, thermal, modem, DSP, ASIC, and software, are integrated effectively. Your role will involve creating validation plans and building the necessary infrastructure to execute testing and analyze data. You will lead cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve any validation failures, ensuring that the systems meet all performance and regulatory standards. You will also participate in in-field and on-orbit validation with satellites, which may require occasional travel. Your contributions will be crucial in helping Amazon LEO achieve its mission of providing fast, affordable broadband to underserved communities.
