Overview

Esri is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of US payroll processing. You'll manage payroll staff and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. This role requires extensive payroll experience and leadership skills.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 12 years of payroll experience, including a deep understanding of federal, state, and local employment tax regulations. Your expertise encompasses the entire payroll administration process, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all aspects of payroll management. You have at least 3 years of supervisory experience, demonstrating your ability to lead and develop a team effectively. Your detail-oriented approach and hands-on style enable you to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines consistently. You possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, allowing you to interact diplomatically with various stakeholders.

Desirable

You are familiar with payroll system upgrades and have experience in testing new payroll systems. Your knowledge of how payroll processes impact accounting transactions is a significant asset. You are proactive in recommending process changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the payroll department.

What you'll do

In this role, you will take full responsibility for the timely and accurate processing of multi-state US payrolls. You will manage the day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Your leadership will guide a team of payroll representatives, where you will oversee training, workload assignments, and quality control processes. You will conduct performance reviews and address any issues that arise within the team. Collaboration with HR and accounting teams will be essential to ensure a successful partnership and integration of payroll with other systems. You will support payroll system upgrades and testing, ensuring that all changes enhance operational efficiency. Your recommendations for process improvements will be vital in streamlining payroll operations and achieving departmental objectives.
