What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the design and execution of experimental and observational analyses to assess strategic risks associated with OpenAI's products. You will develop econometric approaches to measure the magnitude and impact of risk shifts in human–AI systems, ensuring that your findings directly inform prioritization and strategic risk management across the company. Your work will involve collaborating with internal and external partners to implement effective mitigation strategies against misuse.

You will monitor and analyze real-world abuse trends, geopolitical risks, and strategic threats, providing safety intelligence that informs product decisions. Your analyses will contribute to the overarching goal of developing AI that benefits humanity, ensuring that OpenAI's tools are deployed securely and responsibly across critical sectors. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior team members, sharing your expertise and fostering a collaborative environment.
