You have 5+ years of experience in machine learning and data analysis, with a strong background in building and deploying models that address real-world challenges. Your expertise in Python allows you to analyze data effectively and implement robust machine learning solutions. You understand the importance of risk evaluation and have experience in developing systems that detect anomalous behavior. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product, engineering, and legal teams to ensure that your solutions are effective and compliant with safety standards. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for improving user experiences through technology.

Desirable

Experience with real-time systems and batch processing is a plus, as is familiarity with content understanding and account integrity solutions. You are comfortable curating data sets for model training and improving data labeling techniques. Your ability to document modeling approaches clearly will help in sharing knowledge across teams.

What you'll do

In this role, you will analyze data to identify risk patterns that inform the design of machine learning models. You will build, iterate on, and evaluate models that detect risk and anomalous behavior, ensuring that Discord users have a safe experience. Collaborating with product, engineering, legal, and Trust and Safety partners, you will deliver effective ML solutions that enhance user safety. You will also work with partner teams to curate golden label sets at scale, improving data labeling techniques for model training. Deploying models into production systems will be a key responsibility, where you will write backend code as needed to ensure scalability and reliability. Monitoring model performance and documenting your approaches will be essential to your success in this role.
