Overview

SpaceX is hiring a Microelectronics Process Engineer for Optical Products to develop manufacturing processes for next-generation electro-optic devices. You'll collaborate with design and production teams in Redmond, WA.

Who you are

You have a strong background in microelectronics manufacturing processes, with experience in die attach, wire-bond, and active alignment. Your expertise in optical products and electro-optic devices makes you a valuable asset to our team. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with design teams, software teams, and production technicians to bring innovative products to life. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for developing cutting-edge technologies that push the boundaries of what's possible in satellite communications.

You possess a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, and have hands-on experience with new product introduction (NPI) processes. Your ability to manage projects and optimize production processes for high volume manufacturing is key to your success in this role. You are comfortable working with machine vendors to procure and maintain manufacturing equipment, ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently.

Desirable

Experience with design of experiments (DOE) to optimize production processes is a plus. Familiarity with the satellite industry and a passion for space exploration will help you excel in this role. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies, and you enjoy tackling complex challenges in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

As a Microelectronics Process Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for developing and managing new product introduction processes for micro-electronic assemblies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute experiments that optimize production processes for high volume manufacturing. Your role will involve working closely with machine vendors to procure, maintain, and improve device manufacturing equipment, ensuring that our production capabilities meet the demands of our growing satellite constellation.

You will take the lead in designing and executing DOE to enhance production efficiency and quality. Your insights will directly impact the success of our optical products, contributing to the overall mission of providing broadband internet access globally through the Starlink satellite constellation. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving any manufacturing issues that arise, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
