Senior Software Engineer - Backend

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale — you've owned services from design through deployment and have navigated complex distributed systems challenges. Desirable

Experience with Cloudflare products or similar technologies would be a plus. Familiarity with security operations and incident response processes is also desirable. You have a proactive approach to problem-solving and are comfortable taking the initiative to drive projects forward.

What you'll do

In this role, you will enhance the capabilities of Cloudflare's Security Operations Center by developing features that allow SOC teams to leverage data and logging effectively. You will collaborate with product managers and other engineers to define requirements and design solutions that meet the needs of our users. You will be responsible for writing clean, maintainable code and conducting code reviews to ensure quality across the team. You will also participate in the full software development lifecycle, from initial design through deployment and monitoring. Your contributions will directly impact the security posture of our customers, helping them to mitigate risks and respond to incidents more effectively. You will engage in troubleshooting and debugging complex issues, providing support to your team and ensuring that our systems remain robust and reliable. You will have opportunities to mentor junior engineers and share your knowledge with the team, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
