At Google, we follow a simple but vital premise: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." Google’s UX Engineers are versatile and passionate about taking on new problems to drive progress and vision for design teams. They’re comfortable wearing many hats and get excited about working across discipline lines to develop products and prototypes that bring new ideas to life.

Google User Experience (UX) is made up of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers: we care deeply about the people who use our products. The UX team plays an integral part in gathering insights about the attitudes, emotions, and behaviors of people who use our products to inspire and inform design. We collaborate closely with each other and with engineering and product management to create industry-leading products that deliver value for the people who use them, and for Google’s businesses.

As a UX Engineer, you'll work as part of a UX team in a challenging, fast-paced environment. You’ll demonstrate your creativity, analytical skills, and knowledge of user facing technologies to create prototypes that identify the best product experiences, launch innovative features, build tools that accelerate UX teams, bridge between design and engineering discussions, and enable efficient, high quality execution.

User Experience (UX) Engineers are the synthesis of design and development. They take Google's most innovative product concepts and bring them to life in an effort to push the boundaries of user interface design. Google is known for its design aesthetic and technical know-how.

In this role, you'll need different types of skills to develop the next generation of products. You will partner with researchers and designers to define and deliver new features, test new concepts, and assist with final implementation. You will work closely with interaction and motion designers to create a compelling interactive goal to explore novel interactions, build testable prototypes for usability studies, set the bar for polish and animation quality, and assist with final production implementation.

You will also partner directly with engineers to dig into new technologies to understand the capabilities and limitations of production stacks. You need to be able to deliver production ready prototypes that test the feasibility of designs and have the ability to build and clean foundational code for testing and early stages of production.

In Google Search, we're reimagining what it means to search for information – any way and anywhere. To do that, we need to solve complex engineering challenges and expand our infrastructure, while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience that people around the world rely on. In joining the Search team, you'll have an opportunity to make an impact on billions of people globally.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $151,000-$222,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. • Lead or contribute to key projects, ensuring a holistic systems-thinking approach and advocating for user needs across platforms and applications.
  • Strategize, brainstorm and define approaches that optimize implementation of the design intent.
