You possess strong communication skills in both English and Japanese, enabling you to connect with diverse audiences and facilitate authentic engagement. Your experience in organizing events, hackathons, and community programs has equipped you with the skills to drive participation and enthusiasm among developers. You are passionate about AI and its potential to benefit society, aligning with Anthropic's mission.

Experience in the AI or tech industry is a plus, as is familiarity with developer platforms and tools. You have a network of contacts within the Japanese developer community, which will help you establish credibility and influence. A background in marketing or product management can also enhance your ability to align community activities with broader market strategies.

What you'll do

In this role, you will own the complete developer community strategy for Japan, focusing on establishing and scaling Anthropic's presence in this strategic market. You will spearhead the creation of new community spaces tailored for Japanese developers, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to thrive. Your responsibilities will include launching an invite-only developer superuser program, leading local events, and forming partnerships for hackathons that engage the community.

You will collaborate closely with the Head of Japan to ensure that community activities align with the overall market strategy. Working with the US-based central Community team, you will standardize programs and build shared infrastructure that supports community growth. Your role will involve continuous engagement with developers, gathering feedback, and adapting strategies to meet their evolving needs.

You will also be responsible for creating authentic Japanese-language engagement across key developer platforms, ensuring that content resonates with the local audience. By building a vibrant community, you will drive Claude Code adoption and contribute to the growth of the Japanese developer ecosystem.
