Who you are

You have a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, and bring over 5 years of production-focused C++ software development experience. Your expertise in designing and developing high-performance software is complemented by your ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. You are passionate about autonomous driving technology and understand the critical nature of safety and functionality in this field.

You possess strong technical leadership skills, guiding junior team members on code quality, correctness, and efficiency. Your experience includes conducting code reviews and establishing APIs for localization-mapping interaction, ensuring seamless integration between systems. You thrive in environments that require collaboration with algorithm experts in perception, motion planning, and controls, contributing to the overall success of the team.

Your background includes a deep understanding of real-time systems and the challenges associated with onboard and offboard software development. You are adept at optimizing systems for performance and reliability, ensuring that the software you develop meets the high standards required for autonomous vehicles. You are committed to continuous learning and improvement, always seeking to enhance your skills and knowledge in the rapidly evolving field of autonomous driving.

What you'll do

In this role, you will drive the end-to-end design, implementation, and testing of high-performance C++ software for onboard and offboard localization and mapping pipelines. You will be responsible for ensuring that the onboard systems are optimized to run in real-time, while also validating the performance of these systems through offboard pipelines. Your contributions will be central to the functionality of our autonomous driving stack, impacting the safety and efficiency of our vehicles.

You will collaborate closely with the mapping team to establish the API for localization-mapping interaction, ensuring that all components work together seamlessly. Your technical leadership will guide the organization in areas of code quality and design, fostering a culture of excellence within the team. You will also conduct code reviews, providing mentorship to junior engineers and helping them develop their skills.

As part of the Localization team, you will work alongside algorithm experts in perception, motion planning, and controls, contributing to the overall success of the autonomous driving systems. Your work will be at the heart of the entire AV system, and you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of transportation.
