Sr./Staff Backend Engineer - Java

Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale — you've owned services from design through deployment and have tackled complex distributed systems issues. Your deep expertise in Java and AWS allows you to design and develop scalable, high-performance backend services that meet the needs of enterprise clients. You are familiar with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, Maven, and Gradle, and you understand agile development methodologies. Your excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail enable you to identify and resolve bottlenecks effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of services. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for articulating technical requirements and collaborating with product management, frontend, and QA teams.

Desirable

Experience with real-time streaming and scalable data systems would be a plus, as would familiarity with optimizing existing services for maximum performance and reliability. You are passionate about backend development and making the internet safer for everyone.
