Flexport is hiring a Senior Ocean Operations Associate to oversee end-to-end ocean freight shipments and guide a team of associates. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and experience in operational management.
You have a strong background in ocean freight operations, with experience managing complex shipment processes and leading teams. You are a natural problem-solver who enjoys coaching others and improving operational efficiency. Your ability to navigate challenges such as customs holds and vendor delays makes you an asset in the logistics industry. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to mentor junior associates, helping them develop their skills and confidence in handling operational tasks. You understand the importance of quality and consistency in service delivery and are committed to fostering a culture of excellence within your team.
In this role, you will execute and oversee end-to-end ocean freight shipments, including Full Container Load (FCL), Less than Container Load (LCL), import, export, and intermodal operations. You will act as the first point of escalation for your squad, troubleshooting issues related to rollovers, customs holds, port congestion, and vendor delays. Your leadership will be crucial as you guide a small team of 5-6 associates, ensuring they deliver consistent quality in their work. You will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring junior associates, sharing your expertise and best practices to help them learn faster and grow in their roles. By building strong relationships with your team and other stakeholders, you will contribute to the overall success of Flexport's operations in Vietnam.
