Who you are

You have a strong background in machine learning and AI, with at least 3-5 years of experience in building and deploying machine learning models. Your expertise in Python is complemented by hands-on experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch, allowing you to effectively implement complex algorithms and data processing techniques. You are comfortable working with large datasets and have a solid understanding of SQL for data manipulation and analysis. Your ability to dive into research papers and stay current with academic publications demonstrates your commitment to continuous learning in the rapidly evolving field of AI.

You possess knowledge of the challenges and opportunities in applying machine learning to domains such as fraud prevention and financial services. Your experience with large-scale, data-rich products, particularly in payments or commerce, equips you with the insights needed to address real-world problems. You may have published research or contributed to open-source projects in AI/ML, showcasing your dedication to advancing the field and sharing knowledge with the community.

Desirable

Experience with generative AI technologies, such as large language models (LLMs), is a plus. What you'll do

As a Machine Learning Engineer at Stripe, you will be responsible for developing and shipping foundational AI and machine learning systems that power our entire product suite. You will leverage our extensive and rich dataset to solve some of the most challenging problems in payments and fraud. Your work will involve collaborating with partners across various teams to build technologies that enhance user experiences and optimize our services.

You will design and implement machine learning models that improve transaction risk assessment and payment optimization. Your role will require you to analyze data, identify patterns, and develop algorithms that can scale effectively. You will also be involved in the deployment of these models into production, ensuring they operate reliably and efficiently.

In addition to model development, you will stay engaged with the latest advancements in machine learning and AI, applying new techniques and methodologies to enhance our systems. You will participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall technical direction of the team, helping to mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of learning and innovation.
