Job Description

The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) team is seeking an experienced Sr. Program Manager – Global Engineering to drive strategic initiatives for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) building systems across Amazon's global corporate office portfolio. This role will be responsible for developing and executing programs that optimize building system performance, enhance operational efficiency, and advance sustainability goals across 500+ office buildings worldwide.

The ideal candidate is a technically-skilled professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, combining strong program management capabilities with expertise in MEP systems. They should be able to navigate complex stakeholder relationships while driving data-driven decisions that balance innovation, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. This role requires someone who can operate independently, tackle ambiguous challenges, and deliver results through influence rather than direct authority.

This role requires up to 10% travel to support global program implementation.


Key job responsibilities
• Develop and execute strategic programs for MEP systems optimization across design, construction, operations and maintenance
• Create and maintain technical guidelines and standards for building systems design and operations
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, industry benchmarking, and stakeholder feedback
• Partner with regional teams to implement engineering programs and ensure consistent application of standards
• Manage program budgets and develop business cases for new initiatives
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including EHS&S, Design & Construction, and Regional Portfolio Management
• Support development of preventive maintenance programs and operational best practices
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and innovations for building systems
• Track and report program metrics, maintaining dashboards for leadership visibility
• Lead technical reviews and provide subject matter expertise for complex projects
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering or equivalent
- 6+ years of experience in building systems engineering
- 4+ years of program or project management experience
- Strong understanding of commercial building MEP systems and operations
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and optimization programs
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills- Certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), LEED, PMP and/or HBDP
- Experience with building codes, industry standards, and sustainability practices
- Knowledge of building automation systems and smart building technologies
- International project experience
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements and optimization in complex technical programs
- Strong analytical and data visualization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience working with senior leadership and managing multiple stakeholders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
