Senior Software Engineer, Backend Development - OJM team

Who you are

You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale — you've owned services from design through deployment and have war stories from debugging complex distributed systems issues. You possess deep expertise in Java and are familiar with Nginx and Jenkins, having shipped high-throughput APIs that handle millions of requests. Your experience includes leading system designs and providing technical guidance to team members, ensuring high-quality coding standards through code reviews. You are comfortable facilitating agile processes and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive project success.

You have a strong understanding of operational automation tools and are experienced in continuous integration and continuous deployment practices. Your knowledge extends to monitoring and alert systems like Prometheus, and you are adept at improving system observability and incident management. You are passionate about mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of growth and high performance within your team.

Desirable

Experience with functional programming and data-intensive application design is a plus. Familiarity with web frontend technologies and JavaScript will also be beneficial in this role.

Your contributions will directly impact the success of the OJM team, as you work to develop and operate large-scale distributed systems and design and implement distributed algorithms and data structures.
