You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building production systems that scale effectively. You understand the complexities of integrating various services and have a strong grasp of system architecture. Your experience includes working with Go, and you are comfortable navigating the challenges that come with developing modular applications.
You possess a deep understanding of Go and its ecosystem, having shipped high-quality, maintainable code that meets user needs. You are familiar with the principles of microservices architecture and have experience in designing systems that are both composable and scalable. Your problem-solving skills enable you to tackle complex issues efficiently.
You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers. You have excellent communication skills, allowing you to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively. You are committed to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends and best practices.
Experience with payroll systems or financial applications would be a plus, as would familiarity with UK payroll compliance. You may also have experience in cloud environments and CI/CD practices, which would enhance your contributions to the team.
As a Senior GoLang Engineer at Tide, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining payroll software that is user-friendly and compliant with UK regulations. You will work on a modular Go monolith that integrates seamlessly with Tide's microservices ecosystem, ensuring that the software scales effectively as the user base grows.
You will collaborate with the Payroll team to understand user requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Your role will involve designing and implementing new features, optimizing existing code, and ensuring the overall performance and reliability of the payroll system.
You will participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to your peers and helping to maintain high coding standards within the team. You will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise in production, ensuring that the payroll software operates smoothly for all users.
Your contributions will directly impact the experience of over 1.6 million members, making it essential that you deliver high-quality solutions that meet their needs. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow in their roles.
At Tide, you will be part of a diverse and inclusive team that values collaboration and innovation. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, along with opportunities for professional development and growth within the company.
