Staff Engineer, Core Platform

Who you are

You have 8+ years of experience designing, building, shipping, and maintaining backend distributed systems — you've tackled complex challenges and have a deep understanding of how to create scalable and reliable solutions. Your background includes a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field, equipping you with the technical foundation to excel in this role.

You possess extensive experience in building and integrating with API-based platforms, demonstrating a solid understanding of REST and other RPC-based systems. Your expertise allows you to design and build highly reliable, performant, and secure platform building blocks that meet the needs of various products.

You thrive in collaborative environments, partnering with product management, user experience, customer success, machine learning, and other engineering teams to identify, define, and build elegant solutions. Your ability to influence the platform team roadmap and own the evolution of multiple platform areas is a testament to your leadership skills.

You are committed to continuous improvement and regularly participate in peer code and engineering design reviews, ensuring that the team adheres to best practices and maintains high-quality standards. You challenge the status quo and are always looking for ways to enhance the platform's capabilities.

Desirable

Experience with machine learning platforms is a plus, as it aligns with the core focus of Moveworks. Familiarity with enterprise data platforms and the ability to abstract away product needs will further enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

As a Staff Engineer at Moveworks, you will play a key role in shaping the evolution of the conversational AI platform. Your responsibilities will include building enterprise products that solve real-world problems by leveraging the machine learning platform. You will design and build foundational frameworks and services that provide scalable and reliable building blocks for various product needs.

You will partner with product management, user experience, customer success, machine learning, and other engineering teams to identify, define, and build elegant solutions. Your work will involve consistently delivering deadline-sensitive tasks that are interdependent with other engineering teams, ensuring that all components work seamlessly together.

You will influence the platform team roadmap and own the evolution of multiple platform areas, providing cross-cutting solutions that enhance the overall architecture. Regular participation in peer code and engineering design reviews will be part of your routine, allowing you to share knowledge and improve team practices.
