SpaceX is seeking a Counsel for Energy and Commodities Transactions to lead negotiations and close agreements related to industrial gas supply. This role requires expertise in drafting contracts and coordinating with regulatory teams.
You have a strong background in legal counsel, particularly in energy and commodities transactions, with experience in negotiating and closing agreements involving industrial gas supply. You understand the complexities of contracts related to liquid and gaseous supply, including nitrogen, oxygen, argon, helium, methane, and RP-1. Your expertise extends to upstream and midstream deal structures, including pipeline development and storage agreements. You are adept at drafting and advising on various contracts such as purchase and sale agreements, capacity use agreements, and utility service agreements. You have experience coordinating with regulatory and compliance teams on federal and state approvals, including FERC and environmental regulations.
Experience in real estate transactions is a plus, as you will support strategic site control through negotiations for purchase agreements and easements. Familiarity with utility corridors and access rights will enhance your ability to structure agreements for critical launch and support facilities. You are a collaborative partner who can align commercial and legal positions with engineering and operational teams, ensuring that all agreements support the Starship launch cadence and reliability.

You will support upstream and midstream deal structures, working closely with engineering, procurement, operations, and finance teams to align on commercial and legal positions. Your responsibilities will include drafting and advising on various contracts, coordinating with regulatory teams to secure necessary approvals, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. You will also support real estate transactions, negotiating purchase agreements and easements to secure critical launch and support facilities. Your role will be pivotal in structuring agreements that facilitate the development of infrastructure necessary for SpaceX's ambitious goals.
